Yvonne Sanders

Life Reflections Mrs. Yvonne Sanders was born on April 28, 1928 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the union of Mary and Samuel Manual. Upon her mother's death Yvonne and her siblings were sent to an orphanage known as the D.B.O. After leaving the D.B.O. she went to college where she met and married Mr. William M. Anderson; to this union her two children, Cedric Melvin and Bridgette Yvette were born. Yvonne received Christ at an early age and loved to play the piano and sing gospel music. She loved working in the church. Prior to relocating to Louisville, Kentucky she was a devoted member of the First Church of God-Richmond tleights where she fondly called her pastor "AngeLCake." Upon relocating to Louisville she united with the Gospel Mission Baptist Church under watch care. Even there she continued to sing her favorite song: "1 know the Lord Will Make A Way." In June of 1965 she married Mr. Robert Sanders, her devoted and adoring husband. They were married for forty-two years at the time of his death in 2007. In addition to her husband preceding her in death, her son and grandson, her four sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death. "Muddear" as she was called by so many in the community was known for her "spicy-spirit" and quick wittiness. She was also known for the love of little children. Mter leaving the Federal Government she took on the role of "nanny" for several families in the St. Louis area which includes Tom and Susan Rhea (tlouston, Texas) and Dr. Katherine Plax and family (St. Louis, MO). Yvonne was called from labor to rest on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the home of her special niece and caregiver, Mary Pickett in Louisville, Kentucky where she resided for the past three years. Yvonne leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted daughter, Bridgett Y. Anderson; her godchildren, Rita E. Tinsley, and Brandy tlearton; Special Nieces, Mary L. Pickett, Earlyn Jackson, and Audrey "Cookie" Lindsey; godsister, Marjorine Jones; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of many godchildren and cherished friends. .
