Life Reflections Willie Tompkins, Jr. was born July 23, 1932 in Dundee, Mississippi to Willie Sr. and Mae Willie Tompkins, he was tbe 1st of 9 siblings, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Preceded in death, his mother, father, sister (Mosette), brother, (W.T.), son (Marvin) daughter-in-law (Eliza) grandson (Douglas) brother-in-law (Billy William), and sister-in-law, Jesse. He attended Rising Sun School in Mississippi. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. As a young man he cared deeply and provided for his family. Willie married Gloria Jean Donner, July 4, 1954 then off to St. Louis, Missouri where he was employed at 905 Liquor Store until his retirement. Willie enjoyed his family, friends, gatherings, horses, lottery tickets, music, dancing, joking around- making people laugh and most of all he enjoyed singing while swinging his grandchildren to the song of (swing ditty, swing ditty, swing ditty swing and going down town to get some candy). He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his ex-employers. Willie Tompkins, Jr. departed this life on a Tuesday afternoon, September 8, 2009 at home with family. He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife, Gloria Jean Tompkins; 9 children, Jewel Eugene (Eppie), Shirley, Jackie (Usler) (Diane), Arlena, James (Wanda), Cassandra (Jei) Reashall (Wayne), Sherry (Arvell); 20 grandchildren, Sophia (Steve) Gerald, Tyrone, Keith, Michelle, Angie, Anna, Goldie, Suzy, Marvin Jr., Jamie, Latoya, Edward, Cierra, La Tarra, Karon, Brittany, Kanisha, Darian, Javonta; 16 great-grandchildren, Ambec Kelly, Steve, Hayden, Keith Jr., Kyarra, Dougnisha, Dougnisa, Dominque, Tya, Kyont'e, Kolya, Kavontya, Ka Ran, Arnez, Armond; 4 sisters, Della Mae (Henry), Ruby Jean (Dave) Christine and Frankie Mae; 2 brothers, Robert Lee (Linda), Willie C. (Carol); 2 sisters-in-law, Suzette (Rev. Joe) Barbara (Cleo); 1 brother-in-law, James Frank (Mary); and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
