A life of “Laughter and Sass”, our beloved Willie Stean was born in Crenshaw, Mississippi on August 21, 1948, to the late Florida and William Armstead, Jr.
With her love for the city lights, Willie Stean headed to Chicago, Illinois after graduating from Palmer (Quitman County) High School, Marks, Mississippi. She began and ended her career of thirty-seven years as a Data Entry Specialist with Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.
While busy with work-life, Willie Stean met, fell in love and married James “Pee Wee” Pack, who preceded her in death on November 17, 2015.
One of Wille Stean’s greatest passions was helping individuals vulnerable to food insecurity whether it was supporting her elderly neighbors, contributing to local food banks or helping to organize the Valley Park UMC Circle-of-Concern Holiday Baking Bags and Angel Tree.
After Jimmy’s passing, Willie relocated to Saint Louis, Missouri and later to Phoenix, Arizona, where our dearly loved “Weenie” fell asleep in Jesus’ arms leaving behind her beloved daughter ~ Tamika; her sisters ~ Jewell (Donald) and Cassandra; her brothers ~ Vernon (Lula) and Frederick; along with Jacinta (Terry), JayIsaac (Lauren), Greg (Shirley), Keiwinn Mitchell, Denita Stewart, Lynn Allen, Felicia Owens Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
