Virginia Louise Glover

Life Reflections Virginia was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 28, 1921 to Calvin and Louise Glover.After her father's death in 1924, she was sent to Washington, MO with her two sisters to live with their Aunt Cora while her mother worked in St. Louis. When it was time for her to attend High School, she moved back to St. Louis to attend Douglas High Schoolin Webster Groves where she graduated in 1938. After her graduation from Douglas High School, she attended Kansas City Junior Collegeand Lincoln University. While at Lincoln she became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She maintained that membership for over 80 years. She graduated from LincolnUniversity in June of 1942. After graduation she began her teaching career. During the summers of those early teaching years, she attended the University of Illinois where she ultimately graduated with a Master's Degree. She retired from the Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School in the 1980's. She molded the minds of hundreds of students in herover 40 years of teaching. After she retired, she volunteered for various charities, worked for the election board,and was a substitute teacher. Her parents and two sisters preceded her in death,Carrie (Glover) Wilson and Emma (Glover) Dantzler. While she never had children of her own, she will be missed by the nieces and nephews,great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephew she leaves behind.
