Life Reflection
Victoria Denise McPherson was born in Mobile, Alabama on March 29, 1955 to the union of Willie George and Janie Gertrude Dixon. The Dixon Family moved to St. Louis, MO in 1966 and joined St. Luke A.M.E. Church of Elmwood Park under Rev. Dewitt Graham.
At an early age she gave her life to Christ at St. Luke A.N.E. Church, where she actively served on the usher board early in her life. She matriculated through the Ritenour School District and attended Florissant Valley Community College. Victoria married Phillip Calvin McPherson, Jr. on July 12, 1975, and to that union two sons were born, Anthony Lamar McPherson and Travis Calvin McPherson. She continued to serve on the St. Luke Usher hoard with her husband, Phillip and later served in the Women's Missionary Society, the Steward Board, the Lay, the hospitality committee, the praise team, the Chancel Choir and as Pastor Murphy's Administrative Assistant. She wonderfully Chaired several events at St. Luke, including the Church Anniversary. For 23 years she worked for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as an Administrative Assistant and then as a Training Coordinator with Kemper Life.
Vikki enjoyed singing in her church choir, listening to gospel music but she also enjoyed other music and was a huge fan of BTS (Go ARMY!). She loved haying a good time with family and friends, watching YouTube videos and faithfully posted devotionals on Facebook (Jesus Calling) almost daily even during her illness. She always showed a concern for others and willingness to help whenever possible.
Vikki departed this life on Sunday, September 3, after her family wished her farewell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, and both of her parents. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, two brothers Roderick Dixon of Madison, Wisconsin and Richard Dixon (Sherry Decker) of St. Louis, MO. Sons, Anthony (Nedra) McPherson of St. Louis, MO; Travis (Jennifer) McPherson of St. Louis, NO; grandchildren: Kortney Moorehead, Sr.; Tamaura Harris; Micah McPherson, R. Daniel McPherson, R.
