Vicki Denise Hurst

Life Reflections Vickie Denise Payne-Hurst, was born on April 13, 1957, to the union of Richard HG Smith and Dorothy Mae Russell-Collier in Kansas City, Missouri, both parents preceded her in death. She was her mother's only child but had half siblings on her fathers' side of the family. She and her mother later relocated to St. Louis, Missouri where she attended Northwest High School. God would bless her to have a son, Demond Smith in 1973, who was the joy of her life. Vickie was a member of Kinloch Church of God where she accepted Christ and was baptized under the late Pastor Hughie W. Ellison, her uncle. Vickie was a beautiful spirited person with a huge heart towards anyone who would came into contact with her or whom she met. She had a pleasant demeanor and always called you baby at the end of her answering your questions. She was a great cook and would feed anyone who came to the house. She made everyone feel at home. Vickie was a hard worker and hardly ever missed a day of work unless it was beyond her control or sick. She was planning to retire in two month from Best Western Hotel where she worked for over two years. Nothing but good things were said about her from her boss who stressed she'd be missed. She also worked as a manager at Churches Chick- en in the past years and was a temporary employee before being hired permanently at White Rogers (A Division of Emerson Electric), where she met the love of her life, Robert L. Hurst, Jr. and was marri- ed on August 25, 2008. Vickie along with her husband Robert obligated themselves to raising five grandchildren whom she loved and adored very much; (Aire'onna, Bre'onna, Demetrius, Damarion and Aaliyah). She leaves to cherish in her memory: her loving husband, Robert Lee Hurst, Jr.; three sons, Lawrence Gaines (Tanisha), Andre' Green, and Robert Lee, Jr III (Lorien); one daughter, LaJoyia Patrice Gillom. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a father-in-law, Robert Hurst Sr., mother-in-law, Patricia Hurst; two brothers-in-law, Eric Hurst (Cindy), and Michael Hurst (Tammie}; one sister-in-law, Cheryl Foutz; one aunt, Sarah Williams; five half-siblings, Latrice Smith, Yolanda Smith, Marteg Smith, Marcus Smith, Robin Fry and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
