Life ReflectionsFor everything there is a season.....Ecclesiastes 3:1 A Time to be Born: Vassie Davis Nail was the l ith child born ti Piffle and Blanche (Hendrix) Davis, in Kinloch, Missouri. She was reared by Edward and Minnie Riley in Webster Groves. A Time to Plant: Vassie was reared in a Christian home and was a life long member of Webster Groves Methodist Church, now known as Unity United Methodist Church, where she served as an usher.A Time to Love: Vassie married Barnett E. Reeves, Sr., her childhood sweetheart, to which two children were born: Barnett E. Reeves, jr. and Frances "Cookie" Whitfield. Her children and grand-children were the loves of her life. She late married Harry Nail, Jr., who was loved and accepted by all family and friends. Both Barnett and Harry preceded her in death.A Time to Build: Vassie attended Douglass School in Webster Groves. She worked for Lammert's Department Store, the License Office, and Webster Groves Trust Bank, now Bank of America, until her retirement. A Time to Laugh: Vassie had a great sense of humor and would keep us laughing with her many sayings. She loved to say, "It's good to have a laugh!" A Time to Pass On: Vassie, after life and age began Co take it's toll, became so weak the Lord called her to be with him on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at 9:55 a.m., with family at her side. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving son, Barnett E. Reeves, Jr. (Ruby); one daughter, Frances "Cookie" Whitfield, with whom she lived; one step-daughter Parthia Nail; one step-son Darryl Richardson; seven grandaughters, Lisa, Susan, Kara, Kristie, Jennifer, Tamara, and Lynn; five grandsons, Eric Gregory, Barnett HI, Richard jr., and Darius; 13 great grands, four great great grands, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many loving friends. Her parents, 10 siblings, and one granddaughter, Rene Bailey, preceded her in death. Interment:J.B. National Cemetery2900 Sheridan AvenueSt. Louis, MO 63125 .
