Life ReflectionsThe journey of Tammy Lanette Zimmerman began on July 31, 1967 in Tunica, Mississippi where she was raised as the youngest of ten children by Ben Carlisle and Leola Carlisle. Her parents, three sisters and brother, Clifford Granberry, Velma Jean Carlisle, Brenda Johnson and Cheryl Carlisle, preceded her in death. Tammy accepted Jesus Christ at an early age as a member of Fredonia Baptist Church in Tunica, Mississippi. She attended Rosa Fort High School and following graduation moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she received a degree from Vatterott College in Computer Programming. In St. Louis, she met Christopher Zimmerman and married on September 17, 1991. God blessed her with two daughters, Kadesha and Krystal Zimmerman. Tammy worked as an Office Branch Administrator at Sears Home Improvement for many years. She enjoyed home decorating, being fashionable and spending time with family. In St. Louis, she became a member of First Community Baptist Church of Pageda le. She served in various capacities such as Choir President, Garage Sale Coordinator and member of the Mission board and Kitchen committee. She recently joined Unity Baptist Church. Tammy was a devoted, faithful, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved unconditionally and always lit a room with her presence. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. On Saturday, August 26, 2017, Tammy Zimmerman peacefully was called home. Tammy leaves to cherish her memory: a loving husband Chris Zimmerman; two beautiful daughters - Kadesha and Krystal Zimmerman; five sisters - Gaynell (Steve Harris) Carlisle, Catherine Carlisle, Betty Carlisle-Baymon, Dana Carlisle and Dolly Lee; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
