Sylvester Alvin Harris

Life Reflections Sylvester Alvin Harris, son of Kenneth Douglas Laney (deceased) was born September 17, 1931 and received his wings the morning of April 19, 2019. ft was a "Good Friday". Syl was raised in Robertson, Missouri. in his early years he worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. He was a Korean War Veteran, former Fire Chief of the Robertson fire Department, a serious sports fan and a "let's go fishing anytime" fisherman. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Robertson.In his later years he wed Elizabeth Harris. During this time, he retired from General Motors and began to spend more time with family and friends, Sylvester never met a stranger. He leaves to cherish in his memory: Elizabeth Harris, his loving wife of 47 years. Children: Sharon Young, Alvin Harris Jr. (Debra), Dennis Brown, Laura Harris, Sterling Harris and Lisa Jordan (Bernard), sister, Inez Swink, two sisters-in-law, Vandester Brown and Marva Brown. Sylvester also had a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins and many friends. Dad Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Dad you loved all of your children. Bernard and I will miss the times when we watched the NFL football names, Baseball, and NBA games together. God is gaining a Christian and a faithful servant. Rest well Dad.
