Life Reflections Sylvester Caldwell Bracey September 30, 1949-December 7, 201.9 Sylvester was born September 30, 1949 to Waiter and Gloria Bracey. in Ocean Springs,Mississippi. He passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. Sylvester grew up in Jackson, MS and then the family moved to Chicago, IL. He attended Elementary, where he won yearly science awards, Englewood High SchooL and Malcolm X College in Chicago. He was then drafted into the Marines in 1967, where he also served in the Vietnam War. He traveled around the country where he consistently kept in touch with family, friends and people he met along the way. Sylvester worked saw electrician for Pullman Standard, where he wired "L" train cars. He worked at International Harvester and the US Postal Service. He later used these skills self-employed ventures. During his time, he has worked at several locations. venturing be-tween restaurants and factories such as Nike. He was extremely passionate about educating himself, reading hundreds of books, learning and sharing years of historical events, writing poetry and a variety of books. He also enjoyed expressing his creativity through the arts with drawings, painting, wood and marble sculpting. And he enjoyed working on DIY projects. Sylvester leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Bridget of St. Louis, four children: Nikita of Kansas City, MO and her husband, Bradley Farmer; Markus Bracey of Chicago, IL; Sylvester Bracey, Jr. of Chicago, IL and his wife, Anniece; Aja of Chicago and her fiance, Robert O'Neal. Four step-daughters: Morshay, Myeshia, Monea, MaShira and her husband, Joshua Hill all of St. Louis. His youngest brother, StanleyBracey of Chicago, IL and his wife, Darni; two sisters: Brenda of Los Angeles, CA and her husband Roger McLean and Michelle of San Antonio, TX and her husband Leo Anderson. Fourteen grandchildren: Chakira, Aaliyah, Amber (Nikita), Sylvester, III and Cameron (Sylvester, Jr.), Manya (Markus), Maurice and Hailey (Aja),Montreal and Mariah (Morshay), Morion and Mason (Myeshia), Mila and Mori (MaShira). Four great-grand-children: Jayden and Malani (Aaliyah) Amara (Amber), Moni (Montreal). And host Of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends around the country. Special love and thanks to his niece NaTasha Bracey-Thomas and his cousin, Ella Mae Lewis. Sylvester was proceeded in death by his parents Walter and Gloria Bracey, his brother Walter "Sonny Bracey, Jr. and his sister, Donna Bracey. Interment: J.B.
