A man is as great as the truth he speaks, As great as the help he gives, as great as the destiny he seeks, As great as the life he lives. -Author Unknown There can be no greater ending to a life with love, laughter, and joy than to unite in the celebration of the homegoing of our beloved Steven Lamont Johnson, Sr. Steven Lamont Johnson was born February 20th, 1950 in Bragg City, Missouri to George Edward and Dorothy Commons Johnson. To this union five children were born. His father and brother, Paul Edward preceded him in death. He was baptized at St. Lukes A.M.E. Church at age 10 and later became a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Steven graduated from Ritneour Senior Nigh School in the Spring of 1968. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri in the Spring of 1973. He was a dedicated employee of American Water Company, serving as a Micro-biologist for over 35 years. Steven was a loving, caring, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always helped those in need. He loved to cook for his family and friends, and he was an excellent cook. Steven loved his sports when not traveling with his family. On Sunday, December 28, 2008 the gentle soul of Steven L. Johnson went home to be with the Lord. Steven leaves to cherish his loving memory: his loving and devoted wife, Constance (Cakey-Cake); two daughters, Sherri Lynn Monismith and Marcella Valinda Johnson; two sons, Steven Lamont II and Jordan Commons and one stepson, Julian Tyler He is survived by his mother, Dorothy C. Johnson; two sisters, Joyce Marie, Denise Angellette (Lamar Fue); two brothers, Marcellous Coan, and Larry Wayne (Angela).
