Life Reflection Sol Nathan Byrd, Sr. was born, November 21, 1958 to Ada B. Culver and Spencer Byrd. To this union nine children were born, Sol being the youngest. His grandparents, parents and three brother, Jimmie, Robert and Gus and grandson, Malik Taylor all preceded him in death. Sol attended and graduated from Bell City High School. Ile was known as "Byrd" on the basketball court.He dearly loved the game. He was a very proficient basketball handler and was being courted by professional teams but a car accident ended this dream. Sol also loved fishing and hunting, he was somewhat an out-doors man. In 1983 Sol married the love of his life, Gina Cooper and to this union one child, Sol Jr. was born. In 2006 Sol married Wallee Jenkins, no children were added to this union. Left to cherish Solis memories: one daughter, Shree (David) Taylor, one son, Sol N. Byrd, Jr., 4 sisters,Annrell Benson, Christella (Waymon) Benson, Beverely G. Byrd, all of St. Louis, MO, and Addle P. Byrd of Atlanta, OA, one brother, Bernard L. (Virginia) Byrd of Newark, DE, brother-in-law, Berry (Stella) Benson,7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
