Shirley was educated in the Normandy Public School District and later gracuating from Berkeley High School. Shirley also held a part-time job after school to help around her parents House. Later on she met her husband Wayne Clark, Jr. and married in June 1963. Of this union five children were born Timmy, Karen, Beverly, Christina and Deborah. In the late 70's she decided to give her life to the Lord and became a member of First Missionary Church of Robertson. She found employment with St. John's Mercy Hospital where she worked aside her sisters and Aunt. She was employed for 10 years until she was forced to resign in 1972 due to being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She remained in remission, but years later suffered a massive stroke in March of 2002, which caused her paralysis on her left side. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, she loved spending time with her family, especially her siblings whom she loved dearly. To know Shirley was to love her. She had a huge heart, so big she even raised her grandson. There was no limit to the Love Shirley had for her family to the point she often went without just to make sure her children or grandchildren could have. Her favorite past time was shopping, cooking, listening to gospel music. Shirley's favorite saying was "I Love you baby Bumpkin and don't you ever forget that." Shirley Mae will always be in our hearts and remembered for the lives she touched of so many. She leaves so many to carry on her legacy of being a beautiful person inside and outside with a heart of gold. We will all miss and love you.
