Sadie Johnson

Mother Dorthea "Sadie" Mae Johnson was born March 24, 1928 in Rankin County, Mississippi to the union of the late James & Amy Gardner. She received her education at New Hymn Public Schools. She was joined together in Holy Matrimony to the late Albert Bradley in her home town. She later moved to the Delta where she met and married Jesse Johnson. In 1954, she moved to Saint Louis, Missouri with her children. Mother Johnson was a caring & loving person. She welcomed everyone with her beautiful smile. She was a lady that touched the hearts of everyone. In 1972 she joined the Little Bethel Church Family where she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, under the leadership of the late Elder Walter Donaldson. Mother Johnson loved to serve the Lord. She was a member of the Mother's Board, Prayer Warrior, and Choir under the leadership of Superintendent Buster Ollie. She was a faithful member until the Lord decided to call her home. The Grand Old Lady is Gone But Not Forgotten. Mother Johnson departed this life on Wednesday morning, December 31, 2008 at Christian Northeast Hospital. She had four siblings (JC, James Jr., Thomas, & Eva) and two grandchildren (Rodney & Vincent) who preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her legacy of jive loving children Mildred, Betty (Roosevelt), Jesse Jr., Ronald (Yvonne) ofSt. Louis, Mo and Katena (Marcus) of Minnesota; two spiritual children Elder Artis & Sis JoAnn Johnson; six siblings Linnie, Maudie, Troy, Roy (Caroline), Darlene (Willie) & Deltry; 10 Grandchildren,' 18 Great Grandchildren, her Little Bethel Church family and a host of relatives and friends.
