Ruby Petty

Ruby Lorraine Petty, 88, passed away October 24, 2010, after a short illness. Mrs. Petty was born on October 9, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri to Randolph and Annie Vaughn. She was the second youngest of six children, four of whom and her parents preceded her in death. She attended Vashon Nigh School and worked over 30 years for the U.S. Government. Even though she didn't have any children of her own she loved entertaining and cooking for her numerous nieces and nephews during their childhood and teenage years. They couldn't wait to visit her on the weekends and enjoy her delicious "soul food/I cakes and pies. She was lovingly known as the "best cook" in the family. Mrs. Petty is survived by her husband, Lawrence Petty; her sistec Sarah Louise Beal; seven nephews, five nieces, other relatives, and many friends. .
