Rosie Pruitt

Life Reflections Rosie Pruitt was born January 2, 1904 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. She had two siblings who preceded her in death, Emma Evans McCoy and Buddy Evans. Rosie had a son Lawrence Curry and worked many years assisting the Pierce Family of Meridian. She net and married Otis Pruitt and became mother to three daughters and three sons. Sh was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, one daughter Betty Dyess and three sons Otis Pruitt Jr., Lawrence J. Curry, and Leroy Pruitt (Butch). Rosie was a long time, faithful, dedicated member of the Mallalica United Methodist Church where she served in many areas until her health failed. She was also a long time member of the Elks R.B. Matthews Temple #739. When Rosie's healthbegan to fail, she became a resident of the Meridian Convalescent Home. In Febraury 2006 Rosie's family in Saint Louis, Missouri moved her to help with her care. She became a reesdient of Bethesda Dilworth Nursing Home. She was a delight to the entire staff of the Nursing Home with her beautiful warm smile, sweet spirit and caring ways and was recently recognized as one of the six oldest residents. While in Saint Louis, she thrived and everyone who crossed her path was better for having met her. She worshipped with the Harrison Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, where she loved to participate in service adn all the members loved her. The loves of her life became Raven, Tirra, Trenay, AJ and Deanthony; she referred to them as the "Sweet Little Darlings", and all the rest of us were just the "Boys and Girls". In the early hours of September 15, 2009, God saw she was tired and while surrounded by the love her Saint Louis family he gently and sweetly called her home. She leaves to celebrate her life of 105 years her beloved, devoted daughter, Dorothy Clark of Saint Louis, Missouri; daughter, Eloise Randall and son Raymond Pruitt of Meridian, MS; two daughter-in-laws; Pearl Curry and Dianne Pruitt; one niece Annell Waters; great nieces, great nephews, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Internment: Sunset Memorial Garden Meridian, Mississippi .
