Life Reflections

Ronald Arvell Watkins was born March 23, 1961 in St Louis, Missouri. Affectionately known to most as "Ron Banks" , he is the eldest child of Beverly Parker Watkins and Thomas Watkins. Ronald and his siblings grew up in Kirkwood and attended Kirkwood Schools. He graduated from Kirkwood High in 1979. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army in January, 1980. Ronald later worked for Prosser's Moving Company for many years.

On, June 1, 1991, Ronald married the love of his life, Theresa Hulsey Watkins. On March 23, 1999 they renewed their vows. The happy couple were inseparable and could always be found together doing a little or a lot of dancing along with their children and grandchildren. Before he became ill, Ronald received his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and discovered a love for truck driving. Many trips, his love, Theresa, would be right by his side.

Ronald loved cooking and could often be found grilling barbecue, frying fish or making his famous spaghetti. He would wake up and decide it's going to be a cookout today, call everyone over and it would be just that. On any given day, he could be found in his living room playing music and getting his dance on. (All around the world, the same song. IYKYK!) He also loved watching football and if he could cook, watch football and have a gathering, he was in his happy place.

On September 11, 2020, Ronald became ill and he fought the good fight to regain his health. On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Ronald heard God call his name and took his rest. He was surrounded with family and made a peaceful transition into the Kingdom of God. No more pain, no more suffering, he is at peace. We know his mother Beverly and other family members were waiting for him.

Ronald leaves to cherish his love and endless memories, his loving wife, Theresa; children, Jamey, Erika, Louis, Theotis; grandchildren, Jamari, Romel, Rolan, Jazelle, Alayjah, Teyjah, Sammie, Tommy, Louie, Haniyah, Edy, Lii Theo, Kara, Aleesa; Great grandchildren, Saryiah, DJ, Kaizen, Loyalty, Messiah; father Gene Watkins; siblings, Donald, Edward, Lisa, Robbie (Amye), Johnnie (Liz), Matthew (Stef); granddog, Haize; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts uncles cousins and friends.
