Life Reflection
Robert Gene Stewart "Bobby Tomboy" was born June 12, 1939, to the late Lovie Holliday Ewing and James Stewart. He was raised by his mother Lovie and step-father Harvey Ewing.
Bobby knew the Lord. He was educated in the St. Louis Public School System and obtained his law enforcement certification attending classes in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Robert Gene Stewart, who was affectionately called "Bobby Tomboy" by everyone, was given that nickname because he was well-known for being a skilled butcher at Tomboy's Grocery Store in Kinloch, Missouri. For many years, he fed many families. Bobby was also well-known in the Kinloch community as a Firefighter and Policeman. He later retired from the maintenance profession after working in several housing complexes as a supervisor.
Bobby was married to Arie Neal and to this union four children were born. In 1979, he united in holy matrimony to Gloria Jean Small. To this union, 5 children were born.
His favorite past-times were listening to blues music and enjoying his family and friends. He was an avid bid whist player. Bobby Tomboy loved his family and the Kinloch community and they loved him back. He will be sorely missed.
Bobby leaves a loving family behind to cherish his memories; beloved wife Gloria, daughters Lovie Anderson, Cynthia Whitfield (Anthony), Natalie Johnson (William), and Nicole Russell (Karl) all of St. Louis, MO; sons Robert Stewart (Donna), James Stewart, and Darren Small all of St. Louis, MO; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two sons, Ronald and Darrell and one daughter-in-law Jayna preceded him in death.
