Robert Lee Newsom

Life ReflectonsRobert Lee Newsom, Sr. (Bo) was born on Januray 19, 1940 to the union of the late Ferdnan and Caroline Newsom in Biscoe, Arkansas. He was the 10yj of 13 children. He was educated in the Biscoe Schol District. At an early age he confessed a hope in Christ and was bptized at St. John Baptist Church in Biscoe, Arkansas. He moved to St. Louis in 1956 where he met and married Judith Warner on December 14, 1958. To this union five children were born. One daughter kathy preceded him in death.He was a cabinet maker and enjoyed building things wit his hands. he retired from Boeing in 2001 after 40 years of service.He was a ray of sunshine to all who know him and he consistently encouraged everyone to do their best. He was a pioneer in establishing the Newsom Sholarship Fund which have helped many yound people. He served as the Newsom Family Reunion President for 34 years.He loved sports and coached University Koury League baseball and basketball. He was the number one supporter of all sports ane asctivites participated in by his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and was a strong anchor.He was at peace and made the transistion to heaven in the warmth of his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife Judith; daughters Melody and Cornelia; sons Robert, Jr. and Gary, Sr; brother Melvin Newsom, sisters, Dorothy Edwards and Irma Smith (Johnnie); sisters-inlaw Earnstine Newsom and Gloria Pace; grandchildren Shana, Carmelle, Garry, Jr., Tiffany, Carnell, Chris, Devin, Donavin, Alesha, Marrieta, and James; great-grandchildren: James, IV, Jallah, Jada, Jordyn, Jaiden, and Laylah and host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and members of First Community Baptist ChurchInterment:Laurel Hill Cemetery2000 N.
