Life Reflections Robert L. Johnson was born March 10, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri to Roy and Bernice Small. He was the second born of sixteen children. His parents, one grandson and four siblings preceded him in death. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was baptized at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Kinloch under the pastorage of the late Reverend Walter L. Johnson. He received his education in the Kinloch Public School District. After the age of twenty years, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War and received an Honorable Discharge for patriotic service on December 31, 1954. Even as a young man, Bob was no stranger to seeking employment. For thirty years, he was employed at the Ford Motor Company. Bob was affectionately called "Bro" and "Brother" by his family. In addition to being an avid Cardinal fan, his other leisure activities consisted of spending many hours discussing current events and sports with friends at various establishments in University City, Missouri and as always Bob had the last word. On Veterans Day, November 11, 2009 at 2:49 p.m., Bob departed this life. His memory will be cherished by: two sons, four daughters, eight grandchildren, twenty-one grandchildren, eleven siblings, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
