Life ReflectionsRobert Goston was born May 6, 1939 in Shelby, Mississippi to Magnolia Stepney-Goston and Johnny Goston, Sr. He wasthe first of six children from this union. He is preceded in death by both parents (Magnolia and Johnny Goston, Sr.),brother, Johnny Goston, Jr., and his daughter, Angela Goston. The trumpets sounded for the entrance of Robert Goston, Sr.'s spirit after months of illness on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 1:48pm.Robert, Sr moved to St. Louis, Missouri in June of 1952, where he received his education through the St. Louis public schoolsystem. Robert, Sr. began his working career as Head Chef at Schneithorst and remained dedicated for over 40 years whenhe retired. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, entertaining and watching the westerns during dinner. He loved to cook and be in charge.Robert, Sr. was united in holy matrimony to Dorothy Couch on July 20, 1972 and from this union four children were born: Maria Goston, Angela Goston, Robert Goston, Jr., and Mark Goston. Robert was as loving and devoted husband. He was known to the family as "Boo Boo" or "Uncle". Robert Goston professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined fellowship with First Baptist Church of Webster Groves on October 10, 1999, under the leadership of Elder Dr. Wendell Bonner. Robert loved workingwith the BYOF Ministry until he became ill.Robert Goston leaves to celebrate his life: his loving wife, Dorothy Goston; three children, Maria Goston, Robert Goston, Jr.,and Mark Goston; three grandchildren, Twalla Thomas-Wilson, Shanicia Goston and Demarco Dixons; four great-grandchildren, Demarco Dixon, Jr., T'Nara Wilson, Brian Wilson, Jr., Ta'Kyshi; six sisters, Rosie Kimbrough, Valerdean Moore, Lenora Stepney, Dyann Walker, Deborah Goston and Angel Goston; three brothers, Howard Gaylor, L.C. Hunt and Michael Goston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Interment: Laurel Hill Cemetery 2000 N. Pennsylvania Pagedale, MO 63144 .
