Life ReflectionsObituaryRichard Davis, Sr. was born to the late Susie Moore and the late Sam Davis in Stanton, Tennessee on October 18, 1917.He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Gideon Missionary Baptist Church at 6505 Etzel Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri. At age 18 he began what would become his life long profession and career in masonry. He later married the late Qie Mae Davis, they had two children, Elsie Lee Jones and the late Richard Davis, Jr.; a son-in-law, Arthur Lee Jones. fie leaves to cherish his memory: his sister, Cora Maclin. Sisters and brother to precede him in death; 2 daughters Rosslyn White, Renita Lecompte; 2 sons-in-law, Sidney White and Larry Lecompte, Sr.; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Only My Dad Only my Dad work hard with a tired face Only through my Dad I inherited wisdom, knowledge, devotion, dedication and to strive for the best during my daily race Bringing home a little gold and fame to show how important it is to stand for Richard Davis' name Only my Dad taught me to face what trials came my way with never a whimper of pain nor a whimper of hate. This is the race for him I win from daughter to father. I am convinced Richard Davis, Sr. my father is the very best of men. So Dad I'll stay strong the way I was taught. As you walk through heavens door your morals and values can never be bought. Love you Dad, Elsie Lee .
