Life ReflectionsGeorge Works was born to the union of Ella and Samuel Works on July 8, 1929. He was the 5th of 7 children, and also the last living sibling. He received his education in the Webster Groves School District. In March of 1951, at the tender age of 22, George enlisted in the Army. While serving in the Korean War he was honorably discharged the same year. The following year he met Alice Frazier, they married on February 10, 1952. Three children were born to this union, Gale Wilson, George A. Works, and Peter Works. Alice preceded him in death March 22, 2014 at Mariam Nursing flame in Webster Groves. God was a presence in George's life from an early age as he dedicated his life to serving Christ. On May 24, 1972 he became an ordained minister, which was one of his greatest accomplishments. He attended Old Community Baptist Church for several years, once he left there he ministered at Ballwin Baptist Church for several years. tie received great joy from working as a maintenance worker at Presbyterian Church where he retired. His kind, loving and giving spirit drove him to become a crossing guard for Webster Groves School District after retirement. In his spare time when he wasn't praising the Lord he enjoyed painting and building with his hands. George had a great sense of humor and a hard work ethic. You could always count on him to introduce you to God or bring you back in touch with Him through prayer and scripture. The Lord called upon his heavenly soldier on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 4:15 a.m. to join Him. He leaves behind his three children; 10 grandchildren: Leah, LaTasha (Earl Thomas), Ryan, Nicholas, Joseph, Brittany, Briana, Jacqual, Jabori, and Yvette; 9 great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, Anthony Curry preceded him in death (4- 16- 2017), 4 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, loved ones, and spiritual sisters and brothers.
