Reginald Willis

Life Reflections


Reginald (Reggie) Willis was the son of Toler Hitchens and Dora Hitchens (Willis).  He was born on March 16, 1951, the oldest child of 12 children.  Reggie was educated in the Maplewood-Richmond Heights School District.  During high school Reggie joined the wrestling team, and he won many medals and championships.


After graduating from high school Regie joined the Army, where he served in Vietnam and Indochina.  Reggie was awarded with the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Vietnam

Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Expert Badge for the M16.  Some of his training in the military included power generator repair and power man.  Reggie was honorably discharged from the Army on June 1, 1976.  His training in the Army led to Reggie pursuing a career as an electrician where he worked for Union Electric Company and Sachs Electric.  After retiring Reggie continued to use his electrician skills to do work on homes.


Reggie loved jazz music!


Reggie's only daughter is Sha-Ronda Ferguson.  Reggie married Faye Lee in 1976.  From this union of 18 years of marriage, Reggie has three sons, Reggie, Jr., Adam, and Alex.


On March 23, 2025, Reggie departed this world.  Reggie was preceded in death by Toler Hitchens (Father), Dora Hitchens (Mother), Lisa Beck (Second Wife), Cheryl Hitchens (Sister), Mark Hitchens (Brother), Lisa Jackson (Sister), and Reggie Devin Willis (Grandson).  He leaves to cherish his memory his 4 children, Sha-Ronda Feguson, Reginald Willis, Jr., Adam Willis, and Alex Willis; 5 grandchildren  Aigner, Aydan, Dylan, Jayveon, and Michael; 3 great-grandchildren - Autumn, Summer, and Wynter; Through marriage 4 bonus grandchildren - Alexis, Kaitlynn, Maddie, and Marissa and 2 bonus great-grandchildren - Amarah and Colton; sisters  - Colette Hitchens, Kim Hitchens, Zola Hitchens, Jennifer Hitchens, and Stacey Hitchens; brothers - Ronald Willis (California), and Grailin (Linda) Fletcher (California); a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
