Life Reflections On October 16, 1934, Raymond Reeves made his appearance into the world in the East Texas town of Palestine, the second son of Tommie Daniel Reeves and Lillian Laverda Phillips Reeves Anderson. He received Christ at an early age as his Lord and Savior and remained vigilant to his teachings throughout his life. He attended the Palestine Public school system graduating from Lincoln High School in 1953, he went to Prairie View A&M University where they asked him if he wanted to be an engineer, he said yes, thinking he'd be driving a train. In 1957 he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. In the early 196o's, he moved to Seattle, WA where he met and married Lucile Elizabeth Steen, June 15,1963. A year and a half later, Raymond and Lucile had their first child, Mona Lynette Reeves in Springfield, Massachusetts, two years later, the family was complete with the birth of Efrem Ray Reeves in St. Louis, Missouri. He enjoyed playing the piano, his favorite song to play was, "When I've Done the Best I can", he had a sense of humor for those of you that knew him, he enjoyed bowling, football, and listen-ing to jazz as well. Raymond loved helicopters and airplanes and had a long career as a civilian as an aerospace engineer with the Department of the Army Aviation Material Command in St. Louis, MO, he retired after thirty years of service. He was very active at First Baptist Church of Robertson as a Deacon, a Sunday School Teacher, an Usher and apart of the Christian retirees group. He united in November 2003 and was a faithful member of Shalom (City of Peace), he worked in the food panty ministry, was in the Kings Men ministry, the scholarship ministry during the college fair representing P.V. A&M Alumni Assn. Raymond (Sonny) Reeves, was called home to be with the Lord October 26, 2020 at 4:47 A.M. Preceding him in death were his parents Tommie Reeves and Lillian R. Anderson, brother Billy D. Reeves, is survived by his wife of fifty years Lucile Reeves, his daughter, Mona Reeves/Craig Cousin, his son, Dr. Efrem Reeves PhD/Dr. Debbie Reeves PhD, his brother, Charlie Frank Reeves/Alice Reeves, five grandchildren, Afi Dasher/Chris Dasher, Omari, Tulani, Jamila, and Kofi Reeves- Miller, Goddaughters, Evette and Jazmyne Eubanks, LaTonya and Laila Tatum and, Donitta Brooks, special son and daughter Deacon John and Paula Mills, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
