Life ReflectionsPearl N. Gibson was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, November 8, 1926. She was the second child of Burrell Virgil Rice and Viola Rice. All have preceded her in death. She attended Saint Louis Public Schools and graduated from Vashon Nigh School in 1944. After attending Christ Southern Mission Baptist Church, she was introduced as a young to the Catholic Faith and soon joined the Catholic Church. She spent some of her early adulthood working in Carbondale, Illinois. There she met Clarence Gibson. They were later married and lived in Brooklyn, New York. To this union no children were born. He preceded her in death. After retiring in New York, Pearl moved back to St. Louis to be closer to family and friends and help her long time friend, Thelma Alexander take care of her aging and ailing mother. Pearl attended Christ The King Catholic Church upon returning to Saint Louis, MO and was a faithful and well loved member, until her health started to decline and she was no longer able to attend services. Pearl leaves to mourn her passing: nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends, most of whom she has known for a lifetime. She also leaves her long time friend, George Livingston.
