Life Reflections


Pauline (Adams) Guest was born October 25,1935 in McCrory, Arkans to the parents of Clyde Adams Sr. and Annie Mae (Cornelious) Adam She was the fifth of nine children born into this union.


Pauline attended Brown High School. While attending Brown she p however basketball was her favorite. She even won a medal for Most Valuable Player. In 1955 she graduated from high school. After graduating she moved to Chicago where she attended trade school. She later became a practical nurse.


On July 21,1957 she married her longtime best friend, Preston Leon Guest, Sr. who was enlisted in the army. Shortly after the couple moved to Germany where he was stationed, although they were stationed in Germany, the couple traveled the world. Her most memorable places were Paris and Hawaii. The couple later welcomed their first child Michael into their lives.


Pauline and her new family finally moved back to the states in 1963 where they lived on an army base in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. They later purchased their first home in Hazelwood, Missouri. Soon after Pauline gave birth to her youngest son, Preston Jr. she was able to get a job working at JCPenney's department store where she worked for many years until her retirement in 1997.


On August 13, 2024, Pauline gained her wings. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde Sr. and Annie Mae Adams; husband, Preston Leon Guest Sr.; two brothers, Madge Adams (late Frances Adams), Clyde Adams Jr.; three sisters, Paullthena Adams, Katherine Johnson, and Mildred Leaks (Eli Leaks). To cherish her loving memories she her beloved sons, Michael Guest (Angela Guest) and Preston Leon Guest II.; three sisters Betty Ruth Madden (late Robert Madden), Gloria Walker (late Van Walker), es; three granddaughters, Lauren Guest, Alexa Guest, and Paulina Guest; our grandsons, Preston Adam Guest, Jimmy Lewis HI, Phillip Guest, and Paul Guest. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her long-time friend, Cathy Scaife.
