Life Reflections Nettie Mae Jefferson was born, to the union of Reverend Thomas Jefferson and Arrether Smith onJuly 2, 1931. To this union were born eight sons: Jessie, Roosevelt, L.C., Thomas Jr., Elmer (all of whom preceded her in death), fteddie, Joseph and Danny; and five daughters of which Nettie was the eldest: Ann, Lynn (both of whom preceded her in death), Ida and Jean. Nettie was named Doll Baby by her dad. Afterwards, she was lovingly known as Doll. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Caldwell, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend C. Lucas. She then migrated to St. Louis, MO in 1950. There, she married Johnny Williams and to this union were born six sons: Lee, Herman, James, Carey (all of whom preceded her in death), Johnny and Richard. In 1968, she married Raymond Edge and to this union was born one daughter, Gale Yvonne. Both Gale and her son, Greg, preceded her in death. During her time in St. Louis, she worked as a care-giver and housekeeper with Mr. and Mrs. Highland as well as Mr. and Mrs. Summers who were treasured friends as well as employers. Nettie had such a caregiving spirit that she gained custody of her grand-daughter, Ashley Williams, at the age of three. Raymond and Nettie were members of First Church of God of Richmond Heights, MO under the leadership of Pastor and Mrs. Timothy Hatter where Raymond, known as Fops, became a minister and served there until his death. he also preceded her in death. There, Nettie was a member of the usher board and the building fund com-mittee. Later, she became a member of the New Cote Brilliants Church of God, under the leadership of Pastor Miki and Dr. Carol Merritt. There, she was an avid Sunday School participant, worked in the kitchen, and enjoyed the Sweet flour of Prayer. She was also a member of the Good Samaritan Club, loved reading with the Book Club and attended the Senior Center. She treasured many friends but had two that were lifetime friends, Vera Jackson and Bertha Moore. She also enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family and siblings. She loved going to the Lake of Ozarks and fishing. On one of the outings, she caught more fish than all her siblings! Nettie leaves to cherish two sons, Johnny and Richard Williams; three brothers: Freddie (Dorothy) Jefferson, Joseph (Cynthia) Jefferson and Danny (Janet) Jefferson; two sisters, Ida (Earl) Rogers and Jean (Walter) Robinson; numerous in-laws, 18 grandchildren: Kathy, Shea, Johnny, Jeremy, Jamie, Erika, Ramon, Herman Jr., Emmett Lee Jr., Mike, Sharon, Richard Jr., Bridgette, Arthur, Ashley, Tiana, Victoria and Danielle; 27 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
