Mother Jacquella Jackson

Life Reflections Mrs. Jacquella Audrain Jetton Jackson was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 26, 1923 to Gwendolyn and Withers Jetton. Jacquella was the oldest of four children and was raised by her aunt and uncle Lamenta and John Rhoar whom she lovingly called Auntie and Daddy. Jacquella graduated from Lincoln High School in Evansville, Indiana. At a young age, Jacquella accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at Nazarene Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana. She lived a life seeking God's direction and praising Him for His amazing grace. On July 19, 1941, she married the love of her life, Walter Preston Jackson, Sr., who is also with the Lord. Four children were born to this union: Jacqueline Casondra, Patricia Ann, Walter Preston, Jr., and Danita Kay. In 1959, Jacquella and Walter along with their children, relocated to Kirkwood, Missouri from Evansville, Indiana. Jacquella was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Meacham Park for over 50 years. In that time, she held a number of positions including Deaconess, Decorating Committee member, Sunday School Assistant Superintendent, Founder of the WATU Scholarship Program, Deaconess, Women's Mission-Lydia Circle member, and member of the Mother's Board. Along with her husband, she served her community by delivering Meals-On- Wheels. She was a faithful member of Church Women United and the Chester Heights Block Unit. Some of her most cherished memories were camping, fishing, and hunting trips with best friends Ramona and Willie B. Jackson and Pearl and William Potts. She also enjoyed traveling, flower arranging, card making, soap making, jewelry making, bottling honey, and live theatre. She especially enjoyed lifting the spirits of others through conversation, sending notes and cards, and gift giving. Most of all, she treasured spending time with family and friends. Jacquella, also known as Mama, Morn, Memaw, Mama Jack, Sister Jackson, Sister Smiley, Mother Jackson, Jack, Jackie, Aunt Jackie and Mama Tis was called home at the age of 95 to be with the Lord on December 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by brother, Charles E. Carpenter; sisters, IVIarjoranna Carpenter, Augustine M. Dixon; sons-in-law, George W. Aitch, David Brooks, Brian C. Carter; and one daughter-in-law, Kathy Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memory children, Jacqueline Brooks, Patricia Aitch, Waiter Jackson, Jr., Danita Carter; grandchildren, Walter Reco, Latise (David), Georin, Geoffrey, Patrice, Jason (Doni), Leonard, Lenise, Walter, Tyler; great grandchildren, William, Ruthann, Jalayna, Kayla, Jaylen, Marion, Preston, Aleyah, Preston Charles, Laila, and Emori; sister-in-law, Helen Carpenter; brother-in-law, Fred Dixon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
