Life ReflectionsMother Lillie Howard was born August 5, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri. Lillie and Norman V. Howard were joined in marriage in 1943. To this union three children were born. One daughter, Carolyn Smallwood, and two sons, Norma Jr. and Roger. Lillie was the only daughter of Luella and Raymond Kincaid. Seven brothers preceded her in death. Lillie, lovingly known as Mother Howard, also leaves to cherish her memory: 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grand- children, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Mother Howard graduated from Vashon High School, and attended Harris Stowe Teachers College. She worked at the Small Arms Ammunitions Plant, and later as a secretary for a Medical Doctor's office. She also worked in a nursing facility for many years. She also cared for foster children. Mother Howard was well loved by many of the young people she encountered. She had a special gift with them. They always wanted to be in her presence, often spending time laughing and talking. Mother Howard had a very caring heart. She would do anything she could to help anyone even when she had little means to do so. Mother Howard often enjoyed generously volunteering her time and energy preparing sandwiches for the New Life Evangelistic Center. Mother Howard accepted Jesus Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost. She was very prayerful and in God's word daily. Mother Howard was a Church Mother at the University City House of Prayer, where Elder James E. Barbee, Sr. is Pastor. Mother Howard fought the good fight of faith. She laid hold on etemallife. She was strong and courageous. She fought until the end. Now there is a crown of victory waiting for her. For the corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. o death, where is thy sting? 0 grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:53-58 Interment:L:aurel Hill CemeteryPagedale, MO 63133 .
