Mother Virginia Garner

Life ReflectionsOn January 7, 1924 in the town of Ruth, Mississippi, God sent Virginia (Gutter) Garner for her earthly mission. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Martha (Austin) Gutter; her husband, Ely Garner; her brothers; Lomac, Eugene, Jr. (Bud). Booker T.; sisters, Gertrude (Doll), Christine, Lola, Velma, and Gladys (Tete). At an early age, Virginia accepted Christ in her hometown. Virginia united with her life partner and joined in holy matrimony to Ely Garner. To this union they were blessed with two children; Frazier Eugene and Gussie Nell. Upon migrating to St. Louis in 1939, she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In later years, she and her family transferred their memberships to West Side Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverends Wells, Moses and Bobo. She served as a member of the church's nursing unit for several years. Virginia took early retirement from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft where she was employed for many years. After inhabiting this earth more than five score, Virginia flew Heavenbound on Wednesday July 19, 2017 at Beauvais Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in St. Louis, MO. She will truly be missed by her family and friends. Virginia leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Gussie Moore; daughter-in-law, Dell Garner; grandson, Frazier II, granddaughter, Toni Hayes, along with other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
