Life ReflectionsMonroe Wilson Young, born October 18, 1932 to the late William and Margaret Young of Carlyle, Illinois. (Brother Delmar, sister Betty deceased) were reared in Carlyle, Illinois and all finished high school at Carlyle High School. Monroe graduated in 1951 and moved to Alton, Illinois. Before moving he shined shoes, set pins at a four lane bowling alley, worked in a cafe in Carlyle, washed dishes, etc. Monroe worked in Alton for a short time at a steel mill, soup house, cleaned chickens, and at American Lead Smelter. Monroe served 4 years in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, in southern and northern Japan and became a member in the famous "Jodi Drill Team" as a right guide. Monroe leaves a wife, Nancy Young; sons, Cornell, Bradley and Leroy; daughters Corliss and Linda; 2 grand-daughters and I grandson, 2 cousins, Leroy, George {Debris) Stansberry; many friends, Dave and Shirley Calwell, Steve and Maddlene Collins, Geri, Ben, Eliz and David Cox, Cedric Curran, Steve and Dave Finke; neighbor, Susan Horstman, Jim and Marlene Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hammer, Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Jefferson, Ms. Pearl Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Lennie, Mr. And Hrs. Dwayne and Vickie Miller, Mr. and Mrs. 13111 and Eli Miller, Robert and Alice Mason, Phil and Donna Rogers, Jim and Thersa Roberts, Elmer Rodell, Mr. and Mrs. Rich Sharnel, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Thurman, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Williams and Kids, Mr. and Mrs. Tony and Montrice and Cannon Williams.
