Mckinley Riley

August 3, 1948 — April 24, 2008

To My Special Loved Ones - I'm sorry, I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to play. And I know any tasks I left undone must stay that way, but with all the pain and suffering, I found peace early Thursday. And To Everyone! If my parting has left a void, then fill it with memories of joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss ... Ahh yes, these things I too will miss. All of you may feel my time was all too brief, but please don't lengthen it with grief. Lift up your hearts - and share with me, God wanted me now - He set me free! Remember, I love you all- All I've done is answer the call to be with my Lord. McKinley "Mac Riley, 59, was born Tuesday, August 3, 1948 to the union of John and Marie Riley in Detroit, MI. He departed this life in the wee hours of the morning of Thursday, April 24, 2008. He was educated in the Detroit Public and St. Louis County Public School systems. Later, he entered Job Corp., worked briefly for Chrysler Corp., and was a certified mechanic. He became an honorary member of the Knockout Riders motorcycle club in 1997. fie was united in Holy Matrimony to Barbara Riley on September 27, 1986. Barbara was a good and faithful servant, devoted wife, friend and companion to Mack, who stood by him through all of his illnesses right up to the end. Mack loved his family dearly and was a historian of sorts when it came to the family's history, old cars and old music. He was their mom's # 1 son, followed by his brothers, #2, #3 and #4 sons (as they're fondly called): and they had a camaraderie or bond between them, wherein they took their cue from Mack, that never could be broken by anyone or anything. He was fun-loving - always laughing and pulling jokes or pranks on someone all for the heck of it. His nieces and nephews have fond memories (of course, not so at the time) of their Uncle picking them up by their ears' when they were little. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Sheletha Riley; a son, McKinley (Callie) Riley, Jr.; a stepson, Spencer Taylor; and a granddaughter, Amya Ferguson, all of St. Louis, MO; three brothers, James (Alma) Riley, of Detroit, MI; Ray Anthony Riley and Jerome (LaDoris) Riley, both of St. Louis, MO; one uncle, Auto (Liz) Wagner of Los Angeles, CA; four aunts, Roxie Byers and Betty Wagner of Detroit, MI; Juanita Price of Beaumont, TX and Gertie (Samuel) Brown of fiouston, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends Interment - Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery St. Louis, MO .
