Life ReflectionMattie Lue Wilson is a native of Abbott, Mississippi. She grew up in West Point, Mississippi. She received her education in the Clay County School District. Mattie was born on November 8, 1926, to the union of Julia Sherrod Wilson and James Agrietha Wilson. Mattie was converted and baptized at an early age, with the St. Robertson Missionary Baptist Church of West Point. Her parents, husband, two brothers, three sisters, daughter, Bridget Cara, grandson and great-granddaughter preceded her in transition.November 6, 1943 she was united in holy matriomony to the late Joe Willie Lee. Mattie is of seven children, who lovingly called her (Ant Matt) except Bridget, she called her (Mama). Ant Matt. was called Ant Matt. mostly by everyone who knew her. The family relocated to Robertson, Missouri in the early 1950's. She united with the First Missionary Baptist Church of Robertson. She was a proud and devoted mother, who encouraged her children to get an education. Mattie loved to cook, she made a career of cooking for several restaurants in St. Louis County. August 12, 1988 she retired from McDonnell Douglas. After retiring she enjoyed traveling and playing bingo. Farewell to a good mother, on August 28,2013, Mattie L. Wilson went home to be with the Lord. One of her favorite sayings (THE LORD TAKES CARE OF ME). Her memories will be forever cherished by her loving children; two sons, Willie Lee (Carol), and Jerome Wilson (Sharon); four daughters, Dorothy Parish (Charles), Lillie Hellems, Bernice Wilson (Nick), and Louise Wilson; one sister, Lillie Darling of Cleveland, Ohio; 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends Interment:St. Peters Cemetery1830 Lucas & Hunt RoadSt. Louis, MO 63121 .
