Mattie Rene Hurst

Life ReflectionsMattie Rene Hurst was born September 17, 1933, in Wrightsville, Georgia to Claudie and Corrine Hurst. She was one of 10 children. The family moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1955. Mattie came to know the Lord at an early age, when she joined New Covenant Church under the leadership of Pastor Roy McGown. Mattie was a hard working and dedicated Mother to her three Sons. To her family and friends, she was affectionately known as "Sug". She enjoyed cooking, and showing her hospitality to everyone. She made everyone who came into her home feel welcome. She fed any, and every-one who walked through her door. Mattie was preceded in death by: her parents Claudie and Conine; siblings, Theodis (Joe), Charles (Jim Dandy) and Willie (Buddy); a sister, Emma Lee Telfair; grandson, Jermain Johnson; and great-grandson, Leon Williams.Timothy 4:7 (KJV) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course.
