Life Reflections Weezie... Mary Louise (Davis) Fortune was born on October 15, 1931 in Saint Louis, Missouir to WIllie Sr. and Corine Davis ,who both preceded in death along with siblings: Willie, Anthony, Juanita, and Doris. She leaves to mourn siblings: Lee Davis, Joy Kenney, and Carolyn Gaylor. Mary attended Elmwood Middle School and later graduated from Sumner High School in 1949, where she was a member of the Service Club. At an early age she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. and attended Gospel Temple C.O.G.I.C. On May 20. 1951. Mary was united in holy matrimony with James Shelton Fortune. Jr ., whom she leaves to cherish her memory. From her union to James were born 3 sons, and 3 daughters. Two daughters preceded her in death; Renee Ellis (Harold) and Gwendolyn Tate. She leaves to cherish in her memory: Jeffrey Fortune (Cassandra). David Fortune. Angela Davis (Alan C.,Sr.) and Darryl Fortune. Mary had a host of grandkids: Kory. Scott (Danielle). Rhonata. Joshua. Kambria. Adrienne (Rascive). Jeffrey Nicholas. Leslie. Ashley Danielle. Ashley Renee. Alicia'. and Alan. Jr. There are also 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law. Patricia Fortune and Carrie Lewis and one brother-in-law. Arthur Fortune (Nancy) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary Louise worked at several places including White-Rodgers, Sears and retired from the Special School District after 20 years. Mary loved to travel with the church. sing in the choir and prepared nourishing and plentiful meals for her family and friends. She naturally extended love to all and served God graciously. Mary influenced the lives of everyone around her by showing love and compassion to all. Mary was kind and sweet and was affectionately given the endearing name of "Weezie" by her family due to her middle name being Louise. This nickname was shared by friends and family. She was truly a soldier for the Lord and the matriarch of her family and will be greatly missed. You've spent your life doing for others, its your turn to rest Weezie...
