In Loving Memory of Martin EllensMartin Ellens was born to Lucille Ellens, November 26, 1930 in Akron, Ohio. He was 81 years old. He never knew his father. His mother died at a young age, so his Aunt Rosa Lee Sanford stepped up and took him in and raised Martin and his two brothers: Elwood and James Ellens. They are both deceased. They considered her their second mother up until she passed away several years ago. A little history; Although he didn't complete high school. he obtained his G.E.D. tie also completed 1 year of college. Martin was a Corporal in the U.S. Army from April 7, 1957 to March 8, 1961. He was with the HQ 1ST BATTALION 34TH INFANTRY. He received the: National Defense Service Medal United Nations Service Medal Korean Service Ribbon He was honorably discharged March 8, 1955 Martin Ellens met and fell in love with Iris M. Hollowell and after a reasonable courtship (with shotgun hang- ing in the background to keep everything "honest"), they were married April 4, 1959. He worked at Campbell Soup Company and R.R. Donnelly & Sons Printing Company in Chicago, Illinois. He was a key member in the Union and an occasional Speaker. He was a hard working-man. Martin was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in July, 1990 and had been a diligent member up until his illness caused him to bed-ridden. His hobbies were recording music videos, video recording, cooking, bil- liards, playing cards and general handyman. He is sur- vived by is Wife" Iris M. Ellens; Daughters: Shawn A. Ellens - st. Louis, MO, Cynthia Berry - Benton Harbor, ML; Grandchildren: Gregory S. Crable II, Curtiss M. Crable, Danielle V.E. Crable- st. Louis,MO, Monica E. Berry, Marcus T. Berry - Benton Harbor, MI; Great-grand- children: Gregory S. Crable III, Janiece Mixon, Shaniyah Ward, Tyler C. Crable, flailey R. Crable, Alexiss H. Crable - St. Louis, MO, Marcus T. Berry II, Madison R. Berry, Kaila D. Berry, Khalil . Berry - Benton Harbor, MI; 1st Cousin: Eleanor Harris; 2nd Cousin: Leslie Smith - St. Louis, MO, and a host of other family members, friends and acquaintances. Interment:J.B.
