Martha Mae Howard

May 31, 1933 — May 30, 2013

Life ReflectionsBeloved mother you were born on May 31, 1933 in Marshall County, Mississippi to Mariana Bowens and Adolph Moore. You moved to St. Louis, Missouri as a young lady and that is where you called home. You made 1454 Zimmerman Place in Elmwood Park not just our home, but home to a host of other kids as well. As a loving caregiver, many kids affectionately called you Mama and Aunt Martha, and still do to this day. My how you loved to fish. We'll always remember those days and nights you camped along the riverbank praying the catfish were biting. You didn't mind the mosquitoes and the mud and sweating in the hot August sun, as long as the fish kept biting and the snakes stayed away. She loved "Cooling Waters" by The Williams Brothers and "I Had A Praying Grandmother" by Helen Baylor. You expressed your love of God through the music you played over and over and over again. You carried a heavy heart when your husband, Elvert Arvell Howard, Sr.. your eldest daughter, Deborah Bell; your sister, Cora Jones; brothers, Raymond Moore and Ermond "Tuddy Moore preceded you in death. Now our hearts are sad as we, your children, Leon Bowens, Maria (Toni) Terrell. Karen McCall, Danielle Howard (Melvin), Glenyss Howard, Helen Howard-Guyton, Elvert Arvell Howard, Jr., and Steven (Yvette) Howard, mourn your passing; your 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grand- children will miss their granny very much. You'll be missed by all. Mrs. Martha M. Howard; your aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will remember your smile and forever hear your sweet voice calling their names. We thank God for sharing you with us, until he called you home on May 30, 2013,just hours before your 80th birthday; We look forward to seeing you again in all your splendid glory; Rest in peace Mama. We love you. Interment:J.B. National Cemetery .
