Marian Mable Jessup

Life ReflectionsMarian Mable was born on January 20, 1932, the sixth child of John E. Shepperd and Gertrude Sweezer. She didn't come alone, she brought her baby sister along with her. Mamie, as she was called, was loved by everyone who knew her. She was educated at Douglass School for both grade school and high school. 51-rnignvorked many years for the Webster Groves School District as the "Cafeteria Lady" or "Grandma" at both Steger and Webster High Schools. Also as a daycare provider at Webster Presbyterian Church. Mamie was baptized into the Catholic Church and attended St. Mary Magdalen Church in Brentwood until her health began to fail. Mamie loved her family and blessed the family with her 3 daughters and 2 sons. She was married for 42 years to Dorsey "Dee" Jessup. Together they raised and cared for her children as well as their 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grand children. Mamie finally let go and let God take her home on Friday, January 6, 2017, where she was joyfully greeted by her Mother and Father; her sisters, Theola "Tulle" Vs7oolfor12, Margaret "Bunny" McCall, Arita "Pidge" Shepperd, and Lillian "Dolly" Parker and her brother, Glenn "Petey" Shepperd. Yet remembering her with joy are her husband, Dorsey; her lough tern, Aileen Shepperd, Ava Lawrence, Marilyn Kay (Eldridge) Davis and her sons, John Kelvin (Marilyn) Shepperd and Keith (Gail) Shepperd. Cherishing her memory is her twin, Mary Lee Johnson; her brothers and sisters-in-law, one aunt, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
