Mamie A. Turner was born to the union of Martin Lane Elmore and Mamie Marie Fectic Elmore. She was proceeded in death by her parents; children, Kenneth, Carl, Carolyn, Larry and Arnold; Grandson, Damon; and siblings, Willie May, Freddie, Ottie, Clara Lee, Martin Leroy and Floyd.
Mamie attended Douglass School through the 8 th grade, then graduated from Higgensville High School.
At an early age, Mamie attended and joined St. Paul Baptist Church in Higgensville, and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. B. King. In 1956, Mamie moved to St. Louis and joined First Baptist Church of Meacham Park under the Leadership of Rev. George Sebree. Under the Pastorate of Oliver Lemmie and Paster Darren Smotherson, she attended church regularly, serving and working on the usher board and health unit and was chairman of the (DOC) Mission Circle for 7 ½ years. Mamie also worked with First Aid whenever needed
Mamie worked at St. Joseph Hospital for 10 years. She then became an entrepreneur, owing her own cleaning business. Mamie enjoyed making floral arrangements as a hobby.
Mamie leaves to cherish her children, Patricia E. Turner, Marilyn Turner and Earl Turner; Siblings, Earl (Alice), Myrlon Edwards, Mary Williams (Ernest), Glenn (Evelyn), Lynn, Burt (Cara) and Ronald (Tonya); Sister- n- Law Minnie Elmore; 20 Grandchildren and a host of Great Grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
