Maggie Lee Mathis

November 5, 1935 — October 10, 2018

Life Reflections Mrs. Maggie Lee Mathis (Sanders) was born on November 1 0th, 1935 in Macon, Mississippi to the late Sammie and Mary D. Sanders, who both preceded her in death. She transitioned this life from labor to reward on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018. She relocated to Saint Louis, Missouri at a very early age, where she attended Saint Louis Public Schools and graduated from Vashon High School. Maggie surrendered her life to Jesus Christ at a very young age under the leadership of Pastor Oscar Brown at Christ Temple Church Of God In Christ. After his transition, she continued her Christian walk with Bishop William L. harper at Christ Community Temple Church Of God In Christ. Maggie was a devoted mother to eight children and taught them to love God, to work hard and to serve others, while working at Crunden Martin Kite Factory until she retired in 1995. The people always said, "she keeps the kite line moving". She is preceded in eternal rest by Doris Bowden (sister), Clarence Sanders (brother) and Ronald G. Williams (son). Mother Maggie Mathis (Sanders) leaves to cherish her loving precious memories: her devoted husband of forty-five years, Brother Wallace Mathis, Sr.; eight children, Lawrence Sanders, Patricia Powell, Carter Williams, Toni Williams, Cynthia Grant, Madaine Williams, Charmaine Beckley, and Kipp Williams; four sisters, Annie Hall, Sally Leak, Betty Downs and Linda Dobbins; daughters-in-law, son-in-laws, and a host of grand-children, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, whom she loved dearly.
