Life ReflectionsLucy E. James Hackett born February 16, 1914 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. To the union of Fannie Mae Thorton and Elliott Leondus James. Her parents along with (10) brothers and sisters (3) grandsons, Dennis, Alphonse and Byron preceded her in death.Lucy was educated in the public school system of Little Rock, Arkansas. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and had a very strong sense of religion, the 23rd Psalm was her favorite Bible verse. Lucy met an married the love of her life, Willie Hackett, on December 24, 1936. To this union 3 children wee born. Her husband and oldest daughter Delores George preceded her in death.In 1942 the family moved to Robertson, MO. She united with th First Missionary Baptist /church where she served faithfully in the rose circle, as an Usher and a member of the Mothers Board until her health began to fall. She was a devoted member for 60 years. On August 28, 1994, she was awarded a "Faithful Few Plaque" from her pastor and church family.Lucy retired in 1976 after 30 years of service from the Lambert Airport Host International. After her retirement she began to enjoy her life. She loved her family and was always an expert scrabble player. Lucy loved her family and was always doting over them. God saw she was getting tired. So He looked down and plucked a beautiful rose for His bouquet on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 7:13 p.m.She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving son, Harold (Lorraine) Hackett of Ontario, California and a devoted daughter, Willie Annette Rivers of St. Louis, Missouri; (7) grandchildren, (13) great-grandchildren, (2) great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Loving: Uderstanding: Caring: Yielding: In Memory of Our Mother You were a percious gift from God above, so much beauty, grace and love. You touched our hearts in so many ways, your smile so bright even on the bad days. You heard God's whisper calling you home, you didn't want to go and leave use alone. You loved us soo much, you held us tight, till all the strenght was gone and you could no longer fight. So you gave your hand to God and slowly drifted away, knowing that with your hand to God and slowly drifted away, know in that with our love we will be together angain someday.
