Celebrating the Life of: Lorene Grandberry was born January 20,1938 to the unon of Mattie and Claude Pierce in Somerville,Tn. She was the youngest of 6 children. Lorene recieved her education in Somerville, TN and furthered her education recieving her Nursing Certification in Fayette County, TN. In 1956 Lorene was united in Holy Matrimony to Horace Virgil Grandberry, and to this union 5 children, Keith Lavelle, H. Virgil, Patricia, Leonard H., and Katie Lorene were born. Later in life, she went on the meet Willie Cornell Williams Sr., and to that relationship John Clifton, and Willie Cornell Jr. were born. In 1969 Lorene relocated to Webster Groves, MO where she soon gained the reputation of a compassionate caregiver, a talented seamstress, and Matriarch to the community. Lorene was truly a serrogate Mother and Grandmother to all who knew her. In her many years in Webster Groves, Lorene became a faithful and devoted member of Nazarine Baptist Church of Webster Groves, under the leadership of Reverend Andrew Boyce, arid later Pastor Korey a Ellis. On the afternoon of July 11, 2019 Lorene accepted her wings peacefully, surrounded by many of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Mattie Pierce, her husband Horace Granberry, her sisters Birdie Jean Taylor, Doris Anderson, and Evelyn Porter, her brother Melvin Pierce, her sons H. Virgil Grandberry and John Clifton Williams, her grandson Willie Cornell Williams 3rd,her great granddaughter Kaylan Newberry, and her very special friend Mr. Leslie Cavin. Lorene leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Keith Lavelle (Brenda), Leonard H. (Regina), Willie Cornell Jr, two daughters, Patricia and Katie Lorene ; two stepdaughters, Christine and Mary (June); three very special God Children, Lawrence "Larry" Lee (Kelly), Jewel Johnson-Elmore, and Robin Bridges (Hilton), five granddaughters, Julie, Joy Lorene (Benjamin), Nikiel, Candace and Ebone'; eleven grand-sons, Ngonde, Wendell, David, Shay, Shawn, Leonard, Jr., Deandre, Cameron (Kelly), Traveon, Montell, and Caleb; 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of beloved family and friends.
