Lonnie Lee Sanders

January 27, 1933 — January 15, 2012

Life ReflectionsLonnie Sanders was born January 27, 1933 to the union of Jerome McDonald and Mayo Toney. She departed this life January 15, 2012 at 3:00 A.M. at her home with family by her side. Her mother, father, five brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Lonnie was educated in the Richmond Heights School District. She attended Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church from an early age where she was baptized by Rev. J.E. Fidmount. Lonnie married Charles E. Sanders in 1950. Two children, Gregory Jerome (preceded her in death) and Mark Edward Sanders were born to this union. She worked with her husband at Sanders Hauling for over 50 years. Lonnie leaves to mourn her passing: Charles Sanders, devoted husband of 61 years; one son, Mark Sanders of St. Louis; three sisters, Hattie (Charles) Blake, Peggy Bishop and Joyce McDonald all of St. Louis; and one brother, Charles Mosby of California; three grandchildren, Christopher Sanders, Marquetta Sanders, and Rodney Sanders all of St. Louis; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Effie Roberts, Betty Roberts, and Clara Roberts; two brothers- in-law, Ben Owens and Robert Sanders; a dear cousin, Charlene Pearson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Aunt Lonnie, We know we will miss you and probably always will. This is so hard to get over, like swallowing a bitter pill. We know we shouldn't be crying because this isn't how you wanted it to be, knowing that you are in your eternal home resting in glory. We know we have to get through this and we must try to be strong, on the outside you can't tell it, but on the inside something is wrong. We will be sad for a while but soon realize we will see you one day up there. Don't think we stopped missing you, don't think we don't care. We have had so many good times and tons of laughs as well, the memories are all coming back to us now like a wonderful spell. Aunt Lonnie, we hope you know you will be missed a lot, you were loved by so many and you will never be forgotten. Love, Your Nieces and Nephews Interment:St. Peters CemeteryNormandy, MO 63121 .
