ObituaryLonnie Lee Maclin. Jr. was born November 27, 1944. He was one of nine born to Cora L. Davis and Lonnie L. Maclin, Sr. in Tennessee. He moved to Elmwood Park with his family as a child and was educated in the Ritenour School District. He was very athletic and participated in football, wrestling and baseball. He was excellent in his performance in sports and won trophies. He confessed a hope in Christ as a young age and was baptized at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Elmwood Park. He was united in holy matrimony to June D. Garner on May 9, 1965. To this union two sons were born: Brian Keith Maclin and Lonnie Lee Maclin, III. Lonnie was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in December 1966. Lonnie and June chronologically advanced and shared life together for more than 48 years. Lonnie worked as a very faithful employee of the Metropolitan Sewer District and retired after dedicated service in 2001. Lonnie was an all purpose handy man and "Jack of All Trades" in the Elmwood Park Community and BEYOND! He was loved and greatly appreciated by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his legacy of friendship and compassion to his co-workers, community and loving caring family. Lonnie was quite a sportsman and he enjoyed horses, hunting and bowling. Although Lonnie worked hard, he spent many days and hours being a very supportive friend and neighbor, he could still be found standing or sitting in the yard with neighbors, family, friends and often his favorite pet and friend "Izzy" was right by his side! He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie L. Maclin, Sr.; two brothers, Jessie and Louis Maclin and one sister, Ernestine. Lonnie departed this life at his home in Elmwood Park on Friday, November L 2013 at 3:29 p.m. He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, June D. Maclin; loving mother, Cora Lee Maclin; two sons, Brian (Denise) and Lonnie III (Cherie); six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Mercedes, Martha and Susie (John), all of st. Louis, Missouri; two brothers, Charles of st. Louis, Missouri and Larry (Gwen) of Atlanta, Georgia; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other family, extended family, loyal friends and neighbors.Interment:J.B.
