Lois Catherine Martin-Pore

March 7, 1933 — November 24, 2016

Life ReflectionsLois Catherine Pore was born on March 7, 1933, in St. Louis County to the union of George and Louise Martin. She was the second of nine children. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sally Nelson, and her daughter, Torrie S. Foreman. As a child, Sis. Lois Pore accepted Christ as her Lord and Savoir when she attended the First Church of God in Richmond Heights along with her family. For over fifty years she has faithfully continued her membership. She gladly served in various ministries and capacities including choir member, church beautification (with her unique creative floral arrangements), active trustee until the time of her passing, and she was in active member in the Area Umbrella Prayer Group. Lois Pore worked as a government employee at several locations within the St. Louis area. During her tenure there she received many awards and recognitions for her outstanding performance. She retired after thirty years of dedicated service. "Aunt Penny," as she was affectionately called by her nieces and nephews, was also humorously referred to as "Pennic" and "Lizzie" by her siblings. Although she was not the oldest sibling, she was honored and respected as the Matriarch of her extended family. She was a kind and caring person who became the surrogate "Aunt" to many of her church members and family friends; she did not turn anyone away and met no strangers. She will be forever remembered for her unique style, her intelligence, her strength and her very caring, selfless and soft spoken personality. She was indeed a loving mother, grand-mother, sister, aunt, friend and church member who loved the Lord and lived her life for Him. All who knew her loved her. She will be dearly missed. There will be a great void within her family and her church. Sis. Lois Pore peacefully transitioned from this life into Eteirnity with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 24, 2016 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. To cherish her memory she leaves: two sons - Eric D. Jenkins and Kent J. Pore; four daughters - Rhonda Harris, Rhonea Johnson, Robin (Terrence) Conrad and April Pore; three brothers - Melvin, Joseph and Steven Martin; four sisters - Mable Smith, Georgetta Vaughn, Audrey Lindsey and Gwendolyn Mundy; two sisters-in-law Sylvia Martin and Peggy Martin; one brother-in-law Charles Mundy; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, friends and the First Church of God of Richmond Heights.
