Lillian Ilene Parker

July 23, 1928 — April 10, 2013

Life ReflectionsOur dearly beloved Lillian Ilene Shepperd Parker, known to all as "Dolly", was born July 23, 1928 in Kirkwood, Missouri. She was the fourth of seven children born to John Edward Shepperd and Gertrude Mary Sweezer. After her family moved to Webster Groves, Dolly attended Douglass School for both grade and high school. She graduated on June 5, 1946. On December 19, 1953, Dolly married Raymond Lionel Parker, better known as "Punky". Dolly and Punky raised their three children and their grandson in a loving happy home in Meacham Park. At an early age, Dolly was baptized in the Catholic Church. After reaching adulthood, she developed her own relationship with Christ. She converted to the Baptist faith at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Villa Ridge, Missouri under the leadership of the late Rev. Edward Mcintosh. She later united with Harrison Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Kirkwood. She served faithfully for many years as an usher and teacher of the nursery class for Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. Dolly was a very creative person, making crocheted items for her family and friends. She enjoyed attending church, spending time with her family and especially dancing. She devoted much time to her love for children. She was a brownie leader and she provided daycare for anyone in need. On Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 11:25 PM, our sweet and loving Dolly was called to rest. She had fought a good, hard fight, she finished the race and kept her faith. The time had come for her to go home to be with her Jesus. Awaiting her arrival were her parents, her sisters, Margaret and Irita, her son Rocky and her beloved dance partner, Punky. Dolly leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories: daughters, Sharon and Robyn; their companions, James and David; grandsons, Bryan, Richard, Anthony, Corey (Peretha) and Cal; great grandchildren, Demetrius, Lillian, Ryan, Joshua, Layton, Paige, Tarris, Angela, Anthony, Aneisha, Shana and Nakoria; great-great child Kylie; sisters, Theola Woolfork, Marion (Dorsey) Jessup and MaryLee Johnson; brother, Glenn (Oleatha) Shepperd; and brother-in-law, James McCall.
