Life Reflections of Lillian Madison Jones Lillian Madison Jones was born in Elmwood Park, Missouri on November 26, 1931, to this union of Beatrice and James Monroe Madison, Sr. She was the sixth child of eight children, which included four brothers and three sisters; Sanford Madison, james Madison, Earl Madison, Clarence Madison, Ruth Hawkins, Hazel Gales, and Josephine Madison. Lillian's parents and all of her siblins preceded her in death. Lillian was the great grand-daughter of one of the founding fathers of Elmwood Park. Lillian was affectionately known to family and friends as "Sis", "Aunt Sis", and "Sister". She confessed her hope, faith and trust in Christ at an early age through the ministry at First Baptist Church of Elmwood Park. She was raised in Elmwood Park. She received her formative education at the Elmwood Park Elementary School whereby she was a very attentive student. Kaer Lillian attended Charles H. Sumner High School, the first public high school for African-American students west of the Mississippi River. Lillian was united in holy matrimony in 1958 to jerome Jones. No children were born to this union. She relocated to Rock Island, Illinois. She returned to St. Louis, Missouri in 1963 and made Elmwood Park her permanent home. Lillian was employed as a Domestic for nearly 60 years, until she retired in 2006. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, dancing, barbecuing, and spending time with friends. Throughout her life, she selflessly gave of her time and love to her mother, sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. She was a down to earth, easy going, woman, who spoke her mind and clled a spade a spade. She was a woman of her word; dependable, caring, and willing to help anyone in need. As the walk of her life rounded its last road, Lillian transitioned from the land of the dying to the land of eternal living on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, in the comfort of her Elmwood Park home. She has once again been reunited with her parents and siblings in Glory. She leaves to cherish her memory one sister-in-law, (Mary) Clarence's wife, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. Interment: St. Peters Cemetery 2101 Lucas and Hunt Road St. Louis, MO 63121 spoke her mind and called a spade a .
