Life Reflection
On November 16, 1942, Lillian Buchanan was born to the union of Henry and Sarah Eldridge, Sr. in Round Point, Arkansas. She was the fifth child of her mother's seven children. During her early years she attended Lincoln High School in Forest City, Arkansas and eventually moved to St. Louis, MO. After being in St. Louis for three years, she married Lemon Buchanan in 1963.
Lillian gave birth to a total of nine brilliant children: five daughters and four sons. She was a diligent worker that various companies and families benefited from over the course of her lifetime. She relished being around family and friends and most definitely enjoyed a good party where she would dance the night away. Lillian did not mind cooking either. People are going to miss her cabbage rolls, homemade barbeque sauce along with other mouthwatering dishes. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and hitting up a casino or two from time to time. After a life full of various exciting adventures, Lillian passed away on April 19, 2024, in the care of her daughter, Diane.
Along with her parents, Henry and Sarah Eldridge, those waiting to greet her on the other side are her three lovely sisters, lma Ingram, Margaret Murray, and Maxine Lofton; her bold brother, Eugene Taylor; her beautiful daughter, Sarah Eldridge; her handsome grandson, Jeremiah Eldridge; and her fabulous granddaughter, Cozeea Moore.
She confessed a hope in Christ in February 2024 under the leadership of Pastor Francis Karengi.
Lillian will be survived by her two brothers, Robert "Lacy" Taylor (Patterson, NJ) and Henry Eldridge (Rockford, IL); her eight children, Diane Eldridge, Linda Buchanan, Lemon Buchanan, Jr., Rosetta Parish, Vernon Buchanan (all residing in St. Louis, MO), Alica Parish (Atlanta, GA), Moses Buchanan (Illinois), and Osagyefo (DeAnza) Sekou (Seattle, WA); along with twenty-three grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. She will also be leaving behind her nieces and nephews and other extended family members; special family (Jessica Brown's family); and a host of friends she made during her journey here on earth. We will all be yearning to hear her infectious laugh and see that great smile again. She was truly the life of the party. Lillian is going to be missed by all of those that loved her.
