Leroy Burton Hayden, Sr

Life Reflections Leroy Burton Hayden, Sr. was born August 28, 1929 in Kirk- wood, Missouri to the late Howard H. Hayden, Sr. and Hazel Beck Hayden. His wife, Ora Lee; brothers, Ralph, Howard, Frederick and sisters, Hazel Ford and Teanie Hughes preceded him in death. He attended public school in Kirkwood. Leroy started working at Tom Service Center in Kirkwood at the age of 19 and retired from the same location at the age of 81. Leroy, at an early age, joined Unity Baptist Church of Kirkwood; then later rededicated his life and accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Until his health failed Leroy served faithfully. He was President of the Usher Board, Superintendent of Sunday School, Member of the Trustee Board, Active in the Berean District Dedicated to Wednesday Night Bible Study & . Prayer . He loved to prepare Sunday morning breakfast at least once a month for his Church Family and was always the first one there to open up the church. On March 8, 2013 Leroy Burton Hayden was called home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Harriet Patton (Ronald Sr.), Ricky Nelson (Christine), Naomi Nelson, Leroy Hayden (Nathaline) and Howard Hayden (Shantell), Elsie Ashley (Dwayne), Ella Mae Runnels and LeRodgers (Marcia) Hurst; brothers and sisters-in-law, George Nelson, Melvin Spear- man (Denise), Dale Ogden (Dave), Diane (Armando), Bernice Solomon, and Lorraine Spearman; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
